Adolf Hitler: Rise, Reign, and Downfall
Adolf Hitler
One of the legendary figures who have impacted humanity is surely Hitler. His horrific acts of genocide and the disaster brought upon most of the world during the Second World War will always be remembered. However, taking the maximum power of the German government in just a few years does not seem an easy task. Adolf Hitler, no doubt, was a genius in the art of manipulation and control. With his style of hitting fast and irreversibly, surprise was seeing his enemies down one by one, whether persons of the same party or opposing other political factions.
1. His Youth
The son of an Austrian customs official named Alois Hitler (formerly Schickgruber, but changed his surname to Hitler for prestige) and Klara Pölzl (23 years younger than Alois), Adolf Hitler was born in Braunau, Austria, on April 20, 1889. It is surprising that the top leader of Nazi Germany was, in fact, an Austrian-born German.
Adolf Hitler’s childhood was not easy, spent amid the authoritarianism and harshness of his father Alois, a man who, despite having only primary education, rose quickly and successfully as a customs agent. We must discuss Alois’s origin more fully to understand (at least in part) Adolf Hitler’s future behavior. Alois was the illegitimate son of Anna Schickgruber, and the name was considered dishonorable. This possibly influenced Hitler to think he might have a remotely Jewish origin. Adolf Hitler was not a successful student; on the contrary, he was rather lazy and without many friends, possibly because his childhood was spent moving due to his father’s work, and he did not finish high school. In contrast to the cruel and violent father figure, Adolf Hitler found refuge in great maternal love. He lived most of his childhood and youth in Linz and Vienna.
Once Adolf Hitler moved to Vienna in 1907, full of apathy and without much to do, all that brought him great joy was the music of the great German composer Richard Wagner, which, according to Hitler, was the music of German nationalism par excellence. He says he was begging for a few years while simultaneously being rejected in his attempts to enter the Academy of Fine Arts to study painting. However, Hitler did not enter despite two examinations. Apparently, his paintings lacked vitality and were more typical of an architect. Perhaps these failures developed a complex resentment against the cultural diversity in Vienna, which did not appeal to Hitler. It was at this time that he developed his German nationalist sentiment and anti-Semitism. Apparently, Hitler felt a real admiration for the proud German nation and the opposite for his homeland, which he considered weak, with an army typical of a country in decline. To this extent was his lack of attachment that when required to provide military service, Hitler hid in Vienna for three years, sending a letter to the appropriate authority stating his reasons for not doing so were that he had no means to survive and lived in poverty.
However, Hitler did not live in poverty. In fact, he had access to an orphan’s pension and sold some paintings, some of which were taken from postage stamps, and it was said not all were sold. Some of the paintings were rejected by Jews, perhaps contributing to a certain extent to his hatred against them.
2. During the First World War (1914 to 1919)
.
But if Adolf Hitler in military service in Austria was not because of cowardice, since during the First World War he joined the German army, where due to the courage and audacity was promoted to Corporal. Even though the rise is said that his superiors did not trust Hitler to assign a higher rank because he saw no leadership ability. Hitler must have been an extremely brave soldier and with great eagerness to fight, which provided for assignments dangerous as carrying messages between trenches and barracks, to the extent that was to earn an iron cross. He said that the unit in which Adolf Hitler came at the beginning of the war, 3500 were effective, while a few weeks later there were only 600.
Such was the brutality of the Great War. While demonstrating their skill in battle in 1916, Adolf Hitler is wounded because of a shot in the leg. Soon, however, is restored and after spending the winter recovering from his injury, returns to the front with great joy. Then in 1918, after a mustard gas attack, Hitler falls back wounded “gassed” by his military. He was admitted to hospital then Passewalk, where it is subjected to certain operations and is in pain. Adolf Hitler is where it gets sad news of the end of the Great War which results in the fall of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the humiliating defeat of his admired Germany. It is likely that during this period Adolf Hitler plunged in thought and began to realize the large and fast changing world in which you live. This is where Hitler began his nationalist zeal and his rejection of other political factions and communism, with its Bolshevik propagandists running everywhere, and now the Democratic Republic of Weimar, with its politicians whom he accused of betraying Germany having accepted the humiliating conditions of the peace treaty of Versailles (1918).
3. Top of the founding of the NSDAP and rise to power.
It is understandable that Hitler felt strange and invaded by a desire to act after the experience of the Great War. There on the battlefield, Hitler was respected and even admired by some colleagues, was serving missions of some importance and was identified with his teammates and the goals of the Great War, to help Germany to prove their supremacy. Back in the routine life Adolf Hitler had much to do and was in a state of poverty. This is where the pieces are starting to fall as if fate had it all figured out and it coldly calculated. Hitler’s headquarters is in Munich where he is awaiting instructions for a mission, anything to get him out of boredom encuentra.Le which is assigned a mission to Adolf Hitler as a spy to watch the many political factions that are now all sides in postwar Germany. For this the only thing Hitler has to do is attend meetings of these factions and find out what they are plotting and planning to ensure that no violence or any action that violates the “order”. At a meeting of DAP, the German Workers’ Party, on October 19 began his political career in a tavern in Munich. Soon Adolf Hitler becomes leader of the party primary. In fiery speeches that were conspicuous by their boldness and daring Hitler dropped out his wrath on the perpetrators (depending on) of the German misery: the Jews, Communists and all other different factions, not to mention the exaltation of German nationalism. In these conditions, the middle and lower classes of Germany agreed with Hitler’s ideas, the speeches of Adolf Hitler did nothing to reflect and increase the discontent of the population and capitalizing against races and ideas different from theirs. By having a culprit responsible for the ills of the nation, Adolf Hitler’s popularity was growing rapidly. After the DAP as rebautizaría NSDAP or National Socialist German Workers.
Influenced by the fascism of Mussolini, this movement, both to the existing side and to a trend of progress, represented the reactionary response to the crisis of the liberal state that the war had accelerated.
Beside that, the compensation that Germany should pay as stipulated in the Treaty of Versailles is one more obstacle for the German economy. The poverty they live in every street, the frame has been devalued to almost nothing and not worth hungry come and go aimlessly, no work. The weak German government can not cope with post-war debts and the provision itself. Adolf Hitler becomes an active political leader organizing rallies, groups and spreading propaganda which is very well received by people who are in poverty, which is the majority. There are many who are in favor of the republic and some are fearful of communism, as well as Adolf Hitler for his cause succeeds groups who see him and his party a related concept to its ideals, radical groups such as Catholics, military and people in general who is disenchanted with the annoying situation that is lived daily in the streets. It is in those groups where he first announced the Nazi party symbol: theswastika. All are designed to return to Germany his position as a major European power. To make matters worse, France, invades the basins of the Ruhr and the Saar to ensure payment of the debt. It feels growing discontent. The most powerful rivals now are the Communists, who display a strong activity among the Germans.
On November 8, 1920 the Nazi party to Adolf Hitler at the head convenes a meeting of the most distinguished political figures in Germany. In the midst of the meeting, Hitler attempted a coup to wrest power from the democratic republic. He went along with Goering and 25 members of the party duly armed, stood on a chair shot in the air and walked to the dais of speakers and said:
“The National Revolution has begun! This room is taken by six hundred men! The government of Bavaria and the Reich has recently been abolished and form an interim national government. The army barracks and police have been busy and troops and police marching towards the town with the emblem of the swastika. “
However, the coup failed because the main characters involved were not convinced the way they would do things. These characters were Von Lussow (head of the army of Bavaria), Gustav von Khar (central government commissioner Berlin), General Ludendorff (war hero very high prestige) and Seiss. After this, Adolf Hitler is sentenced to 5 years imprisonment by the court assigned, serving only 9 months.
While in prison, Adolf Hitler takes the time to dictate to Rudolf Hess the first part of his book Mein Kampf (My Struggle), which is a kind of autobiography which can be unleashed and openly explain their ideas and ideals besides classic discourse of inquisition against the Jews and the deification of the Aryan race and Germany for the Germans. In 1924 Adolf Hitler goes free and returns to the activity of the party, but now opting for a democratic path as a means of taking power.
The hatred of Jews reached a higher level in the ideas he preaches, which are very well received by the public. Joseph Goebbels is responsible for creating an unparalleled propaganda campaign extolling the ideals of the party so taking forever fan feelings and emotions as the primary tool of their campaigns. The 1929 crisis affects particularly Germany, and the middle class masses are in Nazism salvation before the communist influence. After gaining great popularity, Adolf Hitler as its candidate in elections in March 1932 against Hindenburg, the latter was won. However, because of the vast number of people who voted him to Hitler is provided by the Foreign Ministry after the death of Hindenburg, not without resistance. Von Papen, who had taken the post of vice chancellor, Hitler comes to handling, although inefficiently. After that, merging the chancellery with the Führer,Adolf Hitler as supreme leader is the Reichstag, the so famous Third Reich. The thousand-year Reich.
Once the power in his hands, Hitler continued his known assets in both internal and external measures to ensure the sovereignty of Germany. In the Saarland, manages to drive the French through the voting majority in a plebiscite ordered by. Purge rows Nazis during the “Night of the Long Knives” in 1934 where the road takes his old friend Ernst Röhm, leader of the SA which was an armed group that helped Hitler to increase its scope through fear that inflicted and fight the communists. The Treaty of Versailles meant almost nothing to Adolf Hitler, because in contrast against it starts the militarization of Germany, while launching the “Anchlüss” which is the annexation of Austria. The Treaty of Versailles and the League of Nations can do little with its “policy of appeasement.” Adolf Hitler restores conscription in 1935 and remilitarized Ranania in 1936. It is curious to note that the way to overcome the disastrous economic situation in Germany was the re-militarization, the arms industry. A paramilitary police is created, known as the Gestapo, to control the order and ensure security of the state and the purity of the Aryan race. Gradually the hatred of Jews on the part of the population has grown and in 1938 takes place the “Night of Broken Glass, when thousands of Jews were murdered and their tents and possessions destroyed in a violent repression, violence degenerated into concentration camps, where Jews were taken and some were forced to work while others went directly to be exterminated. Six million Jews died in these fields. The extermination camps, where Adolf Hitler carried out the systematic murder of Jews, were known as the “final solution”.
4. World War II (1939 – 1945) and death of Hitler.
The aggressive foreign policy of Adolf Hitler helped to rebuild Germany, engaged by him in his political campaigns. Rather than confined to internal conflicts, Hitler made use of external maneuvers to begin working the European conquest and together with the Gestapo and the SS, Hitler had virtually no opposition in Germany. Among the external maneuvers that Adolph Hitler used, were the alliance with the fascist dictatorship of Mussolini in Italy, intervention in the Spanish Civil War by Franco’s side, and its alliance with Japan in order to offer resistance to the Russians (covenant Comintern, 1936) which formed the axis Berlin-Rome-Tokyo (1937).
It was during the war around Danzig, which led him to invade Poland, and that’s when England and France reacted to the threat already saw it coming and declared war on Germany. The Second World War had begun. Immediately after the Wehrmacht (German army) invades Denmark and Norway, only months later, follow Belgium and Holland in 1940.The Nazi power is at the height of his strength, Europe is on his knees before the power of the swastika. The modern, well-supplied army seizes Führer victories on many fronts. Recalling the First World War, and how close they were to take Paris, the armies of Adolf Hitler Germans defeated the French in just seventeen days and make Paris the same year. Russia not yet entered the war because it had signed a nonaggression pact in 1939, agreeing with Stalin the partition of Poland. Only Britain resists and came close to being invaded too if not for the heroic air battle of England in 1940-1941, when Goering’s Luftwaffe command faced the mighty British planes. Adolf Hitler also conquered the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Yugoslavia and Greece, while Italy, Spain, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Finland allied countries and Sweden and Switzerland are in a state of benevolent neutrality.
And that’s when Adolf Hitler committed his greatest mistake: to open the eastern front with Russia (USSR). The causes of confrontation with Russia are from the irreconcilable differences between the ideologies of both nations, as well as politics and Hitler’s dream ” living space “that is craved Hitler to the German population be developed without limits. Under these conditions, Adolf Hitler launched a violent attack on the Soviet Union having to fight in both Eastern and Western fronts, however, get an uncontrollable moving into Stalingrad in 1943, which was itself about to fall, saved only by the cruel general winter, the same who would bite the dust to Napoleon. It is said that winter that year was the worst he had experienced in decades, the war machines got stuck, finished the soldiers fell under the terrible weather, and the army in charge of the eastern front was decimated decisively without chance of recovery later. The Third Reich was found fatally wounded.
The war has spread to Africa where the Great General Erwin Rommel nicknamed “The Desert Fox” for his spectacular and daring tactics of war, addressed his panzer and fight bravely. But without adequate supplies falls ill and involved in a conspiracy which resulted in an attempted assassination of the Führer Adolf Hitler, is forced to commit suicide in 1943. That plot was carried out by members of the German High Command did not agree with the direction that was conducting the war and disagree with Hitler that increasingly seemed more fanciful. The murder might have worked but the big suitcase that carried the explosive charge was placed on the opposite side of the massive Hitler column of the table where it was conducting a meeting with his generals, Hitler only got an injury in the ear and other arm. On the other hand Americans who had entered the war since 1941, carried out the landing onNormandy in 1944, the key to victory. The defenses that Rommel had planned could do nothing to stem the Allied advance.
Adolf Hitler gradually looks like any chance of pursuing their dream begins to crumble to low. Every time you see more down, the hand trembles because of Parkinson’s disease and his health is precarious. Gradually the people he trusts, including his generals are beginning to realize that Hitler is no longer in good health, by choosing actions with little basis for winning the war. Before the Russian and Allied advance, Hitler is hiding in his bunker with his dog and Eva Braun, the woman who would follow him all the way with blind faith and unconditional love. From there with Hitler is desperate measures to cope with the situation by recruiting everyone living in Berlin in age to bear arms, from children to seniors, to join the heroic defense of the city. Americans and Russians are competing for first reach the bunker of Hitler. In the end the Russians were first to arrive. Defeated and betrayed by almost all of his associates, Adolf Hitler in his bunker is waiting for the final. In there he married Eva Braun and the next day, both take a cyanide capsule and shooting Hitler shot himself in the head and their bodies are burned so that they can be recognized on April 30, 1945. Goebbels, his wife choose murdering their children and themselves after following suit. Thus ended the dream of the Third Reich, the dream of a superior race to dominate the earth and rid of inferior races and different. He dragged his nation into ruin and destruction and the world the greatest war mankind has lived to collect more than 50 million victims and left the example of the violence and intolerance as a means of taking power without no one opposed him seriously. The genocide that Jews underwent will always be remembered as the era in which evil triumphs in the world almost.
