Alba, Dídac, and the Post-Apocalyptic World
Alba and Dídac’s Journey
The Diaclasi and Escape
Everything began when Alba returned home from the orchard and witnessed a group of boys beating Dídac, her neighbor, simply because he was Black. Determined to escape the prejudice and violence, they boarded a raft and left. As they sailed away, Alba noticed a menacing cloud approaching. She pulled Dídac to safety, and upon reaching land, they discovered a scene of devastation. Houses were ruined, and there were no signs of life except for Dídac’s bird and a few animals.
Frightened, they decided to flee, remembering that the presence of bodies indicated a potential danger of disease. They scavenged for supplies in abandoned stores and ventured into the woods.
Life in the Woods and a New Home
They lived in the woods for a while, learning to survive. One day, they stumbled upon a ruined farmhouse, a common sight in the aftermath of the diaclasi. The farmhouse was surprisingly intact, and they decided to make it their new home. They cultivated a garden and developed essential skills. Alba studied medicine to address any potential illnesses, while Dídac delved into mechanics to repair the cars and tractors that had ceased functioning since the diaclasi.
Encounters with the Unknown
One morning, Alba heard a noise and found Dídac excitedly working on the tractor. He spent the entire afternoon driving through the fields, returning late at night. That night, they saw smoke and flying saucers, a sight not witnessed since the day of the diaclasi. During a winter day, they spotted one of those saucers through the window. They quickly extinguished their fire and hid inside the house, enduring the cold for days to avoid attracting the attention of the aliens. Eventually, they decided to resume their normal lives, despite Alba falling ill.
While Alba was sick, Dídac went to the village to find food and medicine. One day, feeling better, Alba explored the recently burned forest and discovered a strange clock-like device with peculiar symbols in a clearing.
Later, Alba encountered an alien creature in the house. It held a small but powerful weapon. Alba managed to seize the weapon and kill the extraterrestrial, burying it in the field. The device caused a fire that consumed the alien’s body. They connected the clock they had found earlier with this alien encounter.
Barcelona and a New Purpose
Determined to understand the events unfolding, they traveled to Barcelona. Along the way, they found an abandoned caravan and decided to make it their home. In Barcelona, they discovered a library filled with books and documents, which they decided to preserve for future generations.
One day, while exploring Barcelona, they found a place where survivors had gathered. They were celebrating but soon realized that these survivors had perished. They continued their journey to the port, where they chose a ship to sail on.
Zack and the Search for Life
They met Zack, who suggested they embark on a voyage to search for other survivors. They agreed and set sail. During their journey along the coast, they encountered hostile sailors who intended to harm Dídac and exploit Alba. Fortunately, they escaped. They also met a woman who wanted Alba to breastfeed her female child, but Alba refused and fled.
They continued their journey to the coasts of Italy. During their travels, Alba and Dídac lost their virginity. Although Alba didn’t get pregnant immediately, she later realized she was expecting. When she told Dídac, he was initially skeptical but eventually accepted the news. He became protective and excited, listening to her growing belly. They settled into a quieter life, and Dídac studied the medical book to prepare for the birth.
Mar and a Tragic Loss
On a hot night, Alba went into labor and gave birth to a son, whom they named Mar. Their happiness was short-lived. Dídac went to the airport to find an engine for power and cooking. When he didn’t return, Alba went searching for him. She found the tractor and discovered his body amidst the ruins of a collapsed house. He was dead. She buried him under a tree and returned to the caravan, where Mar was crying. Alba, now a young widow at thirty with a twelve-year-old son, resolved to raise Mar and continue Dídac’s legacy.
