Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

Chapter I: The Descent Down the Rabbit Hole

Alice, bored while sitting outdoors with her sister, notices a white rabbit in a waistcoat muttering about being late. Intrigued, she follows the rabbit down its burrow, falling a long way and entering a world of absurdities. She finds a bottle labeled “Drink Me,” shrinks after drinking its contents, and then encounters a cake labeled “Eat Me.”

Chapter II: In a Sea of Tears

The cake makes Alice grow very tall, then shrink again after using a magical fan. She swims in a pool of her own tears and meets a Mouse, who guides her to shore along with other swimming animals.

Chapter III: A Caucus-Race and a Long Tale

The Dodo organizes a Caucus-Race to dry everyone off, and Alice distributes candies as prizes. The Mouse tells a story, but is offended when Alice mentions her cat.

Chapter IV: The Rabbit Sends in a Little Bill

Mistaken for a maid, Alice enters the White Rabbit’s house and drinks another potion, growing enormous. The Rabbit and a crowd try to remove her giant arm from the window. Alice shrinks again after eating magic cakes and flees into the forest.

Chapter V: Advice from a Caterpillar

Alice meets a blue Caterpillar smoking a hookah. They discuss Alice’s identity crisis and changing size. The Caterpillar advises her to eat pieces of a mushroom to control her height.

Chapter VI: Pig and Pepper

Alice encounters a fish-headed footman and a frog-headed footman at the Duchess’s house. Inside, the Duchess gives Alice a baby that transforms into a pig. Alice leaves the pig in the forest and meets the Cheshire Cat.

Chapter VII: A Mad Tea-Party

Alice joins the Mad Hatter, the March Hare, and the Dormouse for a nonsensical tea party. Frustrated by their illogical conversation, she leaves.

Chapter VIII: The Queen’s Croquet-Ground

Alice enters the Queen of Hearts’ croquet game, where the players use hedgehogs and flamingos. She meets three gardeners painting roses.

Chapter IX: The Mock Turtle’s Story

The Duchess is kind to Alice, but the Queen of Hearts sends Alice to the Mock Turtle to hear its story. The Gryphon accompanies her.

Chapter X: The Lobster Quadrille

The Mock Turtle sings and tells stories. Alice recounts her adventures, and they are interrupted by a cry announcing a trial.

Chapter XI: Who Stole the Tarts?

Alice attends the trial of the Knave of Hearts, accused of stealing tarts. The Hatter testifies, and Alice begins to grow taller.

Chapter XII: Alice’s Evidence

Alice’s testimony disrupts the trial. The White Rabbit presents a poem as evidence, and the Queen orders Alice’s beheading. Alice awakens from her dream in her sister’s lap.
