Part 4
a) Informal Messages
-Hi Marc! Do you know the APTIS method? Last week, I started to study English again and I can’t be more satisfied. You should cheer up. Why don’t we study English together? If you want, I can speak with you in the office, you’ll never regret it. I hope for your answer. Kiss, Ismael
-Hi Tom! Have you heard the notice? It’s incredible, I feel sad so we should do something. We can speak with other history clubs in order to know other ideas. For example, the sport club has a TV program, and the shopping club has a lottery system with which they earn money. Tell me what you think, dude!
-Hi Tom! I’ve just received a letter because I have to renew the subscription. Therefore, nowadays I’m looking for a job because I’m unemployed, so I don’t have money. Please, give me some advice in order to earn money quickly. I’m so worried, I don’t want to renew instead! Tell me what you think, dude!
-Hi Daniel! I’ve just seen a special flat on a website, it’s amazing! I had always dreamed of finding a flat like this. It has a lot of rooms and balconies with beautiful landscapes where I will be able to read when I want to feel alone. I wish I could live there all my life. Tell me what you think, dude!
b) Formal Letters
-Dear Sir,
I am writing about your recent Aptis Course. On the one hand, I would like to learn English with you because I need to improve my English level in order to speak properly, and this is the reason why I am looking for an academy near home. Thereupon, my brother said to me that this is the best option, and I always prefer to accept his advice. On the other hand, I would like to know additional information about your academy, like where it is located, the price per month, the duration of the classes, how many pupils there are in the classroom, when I could start, when the exam will be held, and if I must do a level test. I look forward to hearing from you in due course.
Yours faithfully,
-Dear Sir,
I am writing about your recent decision to postpone the activities. On the one hand, I would like to transmit my strong dissatisfaction with this proposal, since I joined the History club in order to do many activities. On the other hand, I would suggest different activities. You should organize a TV program or even a history music festival. Nevertheless, do not forget that you should lower the price because there are not enough activities. I am not happy about the inconvenience this situation is causing me. Thus, I would be thankful if you look into this matter or at least find a solution. If you do not reconsider your decision, I am afraid that I will have no option but to cancel the subscription. I look forward to hearing from you in due course.
Yours faithfully,
-Dear Sir,
I am writing about your recent notification in which I was asked to renew my annual membership. On the one hand, I would like to transmit my strong dissatisfaction with this situation. Since I joined the Fitness club, I have always wanted to renew. Nevertheless, I just lost my job due to the fact that I do not speak English properly, so I should learn it, and I do not have money for everything. On the other hand, if I found a job, I would enroll again if it were possible. I feel so cheerful and grateful because it is the best fitness club in Jerez, and I do not want to lose the chance. I know that there are always limited vacancies. I hope you understand me. I look forward to hearing from you in due course.
Yours faithfully,
Ismael Amador
-Dear Sir,
I am writing about your recent advert on your website in which my wife and I just found a flat that is the best option for us. On the one hand, we would like to meet you in order to rent it. You should know that we can only meet at weekends because we always work during the week. Would it be possible, sir? On the other hand, we are looking for a cheap, roomy, modern, and wide flat. Nevertheless, we do not have much money, so we would like to know the price per month before and if you could bring it down. I hope you understand me. I look forward to hearing from you in due course.
Yours faithfully,
