Challenges of Working Abroad vs. Staying Close to Home
Most people believe that going to work abroad is a unique opportunity not to be missed, like a lottery prize, because they can be paid very well, and it also brings important experience and considerable weight to their personal curriculum. From my point of view, however, this may not be entirely favorable to some people, especially if they have a family.
Impact on Family Life
First of all, going to work abroad can be a problem for those people who have families because they would have to move to a different country, which would mean, from different points of view, some drawbacks about the language, the studies, friends, etc. The result of this move, for example, for people who have children, can be the significant reduction of the children’s school performance because adapting to the circumstances of a foreign country is quite hard.
Emotional and Psychological Effects
Secondly, it should be noted that if the family cannot move with the person who goes abroad, it means, from my perspective, an impressive solitude for that person, as well as for the family. It could also bring quite serious stability problems in the family. To be alone in a foreign country just for work, or to get a lot of money, unless you have someone who loves you and waits for you at home, can bring you serious psychological problems.
The Value of Staying Close
In short, to work abroad is worse than working in your own country, your own city, close to your loved ones, and not away from them. Therefore, although getting paid a misery, the love of the family makes you stronger and helps you to overcome difficult situations. To sum up, the best one can do is to be there, close.
Impact of Computers on Modern Life: Can We Live Without Them?
At the present time, computers are used for everything, since they bring infinite facilities to the user, from purchasing groceries from home to working and studying at a distance. As time passes, these devices are increasingly tied to our daily lives, so can it be possible to live without computers nowadays? I think that, actually, we could not live without them.
Convenience and Accessibility
First, computers are providing us with all kinds of facilities; they are changing our lives from top to bottom. They have been introduced in all areas of our lives. For example, unlike a few years ago, nowadays we carry tiny computers, mobile phones that allow us to use them as such and to access the Internet from anywhere in the world, just by taking the phone.
Rapid Technological Advancements
Second, the technological change is increasingly rapid, and it will be faster in time. In less than 20 years, we have gone from using the legendary giant computer screen with a tiny computer with a ridiculous speed to bringing mobile phones less than 100 grams, with a touch screen and high-speed network. In recent years, there have even been vying cyber wars between confronted countries.
The Necessity of Adaptation
In summary, it is now almost impossible to live without computers and computing, as practically all the stuff done since these revolutions have changed, and we changed the meaning of life, how to live. It is therefore logical that those who don’t adapt to the new computers that we face every day will have a serious problem.
