Classroom Management and Educational Principles
Organizational Interaction Decisions in Education
What are the decisions of “organizational interaction”? What issues should be considered?
The teacher-group must establish the conditions for space and material development of the task (meeting) so that the educational process is carried out under the best conditions for participation and security. Keep in mind:
- Administrative issues: Listings of the students (attendance and participation), pupils released, with other functions, etc.
- Facilities and equipment: Type and amount of material, order of use, security, maintenance, pupils managers, etc.
- Organization of the student movement: Movements, entrances and exits, hygiene, first aid, information.
Maintaining Discipline and a Positive Classroom Climate
What basic methodological strategy do you use to maintain discipline in class and at the same time foster a pleasant emotional climate?
To guide the educational process to the attainment by the student, a certain capacity for self-respect and self-organization, achieving a responsible attitude. I have to teach them to be governed, which is controlled, both a responsible attitude towards the group and to the profession.
Two Basic Trends for Classroom Discipline
There are two basic trends for the control of discipline in class. What are these trends and what is the basic difference between them?
Static discipline applies only in the classroom, regulating the behavior of the student based on the rules. The other applies dynamic discipline in the classroom, but it can also be extrapolated to everyday life; students learn to address themselves.
Four Models for Discipline Control
Benilde Vázquez (2001) tells of four models for the proper control of the discipline in the classroom. What are these four models? Develop one briefly.
Model training, behavior modification model, dynamic group model, model development.
Model training: It is based on the need for orderly behavior patterns with prerequisites for orderly and participative learning through simple and orderly behavior (organizational routines).
You need some control but won time. This will establish:
- The occupation of a fixed place for information.
- A student’s quick response to stop the task and group for the task.
- Positioning and movement of material default.
Reasons that the student fits this and agrees. It should aim to help students learn, so that the rules should be established which are shared with students. It should help students to establish means to regulate their behavior. The regulated conduct should influence your life to know how to behave. Self-regulation in the class must transcend everyday life.
Educational Principles
What are the educational principles? Briefly develop three of them.
They are guidelines that define and refine educational work. We need to take a final vision of what we want. It is real to what I consider unrealistic. They help us to orient ourselves. Also be applied aspects of life, not just focus on the educational program established.
Highlights six principles: Principle of activity, the principle of individualization, the principle of the game, the principle of socialization, creative principle, the principle of autonomy
Principle of Creativity
We must develop the creative process in students.
Day by day, high levels of creation are necessary. The constant renewal in all the fields calls human beings able to create and invent.
The educational approach is to preserve and promote the creative genius of the student by encouraging the utilization of their skills.
We must allow the ability to flow, divergence. Enable new forms of movement, allowing students to create to develop their creative possibilities. We must make room for students to make their own creations.
We think that the student is found with different things (to get different answers from them.)
Fundamental Requirement for the Principle of Activity
What is the fundamental requirement, as Castillejo Brull (1985) in relation to the principle of activity?
The fundamental requirement for the smooth educational process is the activity of learners.
We need to stimulate the mental activity of the student (“shake your head”) to get them to raise the why of things, get problems solved.
How to Get Students to be Mentally Active
The teacher helps the self-regulation of the conduct of the student (teacher mediator). Transfer to everyday life.
It develops the student’s ability to analyze the causes and consequences of their behavior.
It is essential to the guidance from the teacher.
It bears much the analysis of situations through teacher-student interactions.
