Engineers ensure that human, economic, and natural resources are used rationally and adequately, avoiding abuse and waste. They respect existing legal frameworks for environmental protection.

Engineers adhere to professional standards and technical guidelines when preparing plans, documents, or projects. They only authorize work when convinced of its soundness and compliance with engineering principles.

Engineers who identify potential dangers to life, health, or property should immediately notify the responsible parties and authorities.

If an engineer’s professional judgment is overruled and they believe public safety is at risk, they must inform their client or employer of the potential consequences and notify the relevant authorities.
