Colosseum, La Mafia Restaurant, and Job Letters

The Roman Colosseum: A Timeless Monument

I am going to talk about the Roman Colosseum. It’s located in Rome, Italy, and it is probably Rome’s most famous prehistoric site. Built in 70 AD, the Colosseum became the largest Roman amphitheater, with an elliptical structure 188 meters long, 156 meters wide, and 57 meters high. Made of brick and covered with travertine, it was divided into five levels with a capacity for more than 50,000 people. In addition to gladiator fights, many other public spectacles took place here, such as naumachias (mock naval battles), animal hunts, executions, re-enactments of famous battles, and plays based on classical mythology. The building ceased to be used for these purposes in the High Middle Ages. To this day, it has a lot of meaning in the history of Rome and is visited by many people.

La Mafia: An Andalusian Italian Restaurant

La Mafia is an amazing Italian restaurant located in different places of Andalusia, like Malaga, Seville, and others. I recently dined there as a friend of mine advised visiting the place, not only due to reasonably priced food but also the magnificent décor, which makes you feel as if you were in one of those cozy Italian restaurants. Being a vegan prevented me from selecting such delicacies as duck breast or steak sirloin; nevertheless, the restaurant offers a wide variety of vegan dishes. My two-course meal consisted of a typical Italian, rather spicy, onion soup and goat cheese salad (which was kindly amended by an extremely helpful waitress), in addition to a pizza with olives, asparagus, and different vegetables.

I was enjoying my meal, surrounded by typical decor of rather basic leather chairs, wooden tables, and mirrors. Overall, I’d really recommend La Mafia, as it serves delicious and relatively inexpensive Italian food. Without a doubt, it would even appeal to an Italian diner looking for tasty dishes accompanied by caring and professional staff. If only the interior was better!

Cover Letter for Editorial Position

Dear Mr. Adams, I am submitting an application for the editorial position you advertised on SuperJobs on September 10th. I’ve spent the last year and a half working full-time as a writer and editor for a publishing company that specializes in educational content. I currently manage a team of over 40 freelance writers who work on a variety of different subjects, and I ensure that the quality of every submission meets our high editorial standards. I’m also very familiar with English grammar and usage and have no trouble adapting to various style guides.

What I like most about my current job is that it gives me the opportunity to learn and be creative, and it looks like this position would do the same.
