Concrete Measurement and Construction Bidding Essentials
Concrete Measurement and Volume Calculation
Concrete is measured by volume. The volume excludes space occupied by embedded armor pipes. Volume measurement applies to glazed tiles, ceilings, and radierer. Deduct spans (doors and windows) from areas greater than 0.05 m2.
Concrete scaling must be done on a separate line for each structure type and concrete type.
Types of Concrete and Structure
H20/H25/H30: Walls, Pillars, Beams, Slabs, Foundations, etc.
Foundations, Radierer, Emplantillados, and Floors
- Foundations: Measured by volume.
- Emplantillados and Radierer: Measured by area.
- Floors: Graded according to specifications.
Reinforced Concrete Beams
For scaling, the length of a beam is the span between walls or support pillars. The beam height is measured between the upper and lower cladding.
Reinforced Concrete Slabs
For scaling, the volume of concrete slabs is measured between the facings of support (free surface). Include acartelamientos in the volume. If the slab is supported on a non-concrete wall, include the wall’s thickness in its airspace.
Enfierraduras (Reinforcement)
Enfierraduras are measured by mass (kg or ton). Airspace of enfierraduras should be performed by separate items for each structure type and iron diameter.
- Rolls: Consider trade length, nominal diameter, total number of bars, and total weight.
- Strips: For 12-foot irons, cube separately.
Increase the nominal weight of armor by 5% to account for:
- 4% for obstacles in the mesh, paws, or pads for armor losas.
- 1% relating to losses for trimmings.
- Overlap: 40 times the diameter of the vertical trusses enfierradura.
- Vertical trusses (pillars, walls) are spliced into the next floor (unless otherwise specified in calculations).
Highlights
In areas where multiple elements intersect (slabs, columns, walls, and beams), follow this sequence:
- Pillars and walls
- Beams
- Slabs
Excavation, Earthmoving, and Rubble
Excavations
Excavations are measured by volume. Formulate many parts as different UNIT PRICES applicable.
- Take precautions against contingencies such as slope, timberings, and foundations.
- For excavations FORMS, consider increasing the excavation width depending on the excavation height.
- For intermediate height values, interpolate the increased width.
Waste Transport
- For airspace purposes, land transport extracted from excavations equals the volume of excavation foams.
- In demolition, consider sponges.
- Extraction and transport of debris MEDIA requiring special handling are considered a special item.
Fillings and Grading
Fillings
- Filling is measured by VOLUME.
- Fill excavations for foundations separately on-pisos.
- Fill pipe trenches with headings appropriate to the pipes.
Pairing (Grading)
Movement of ground surface to achieve a flat surface, not exceeding fill or cut heights of 30 cm. Measured as a surface.
