Cultural Tourism and its Impact
Cultural Tourism Exam
It is a type of tourism where the powerful attraction is culture, coupled with good weather conditions.
These are one of the main motivations for vacation and rest trips. In these towns, there are usually a large number of hotels and activities for leisure and free time. There are advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages of Cultural Tourism
- When tourists visit historical monuments, the culture is maintained. It could also get the attention of someone local. This supposes a maintenance of the culture.
- Areas are protected thanks to massive tourist visits. This is very good for the environment, the economy, and the ecosystems of these areas.
Disadvantages of Cultural Tourism
- It also gives us disadvantages. For example, the destruction of culture that when these types of tourists come into contact with local people, they are adapting new customs. This is a very serious problem because culture is very important.
- Another disadvantage is the pollution due to the activities produced by these tourists. Many of them leave garbage on the beaches, in protected areas, etc.
Tourism is very important since, for example, we live from it, but measures must be taken to take care of the environment and not think so much about the economic benefits since our planet Earth is much more important. On the other hand, this brings many good things, such as the protection of certain areas or the permanence of the culture, etc.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Privatizing National Parks
Introduction
A national park is an area set aside by a national government for the preservation of the natural environment. A national park may be set aside for purposes of public recreation and enjoyment or because of its historical or scientific interest.
Advantages
The privatization of the natural parks would be fantastic. These would not be modified by man, nor would they be dirty. Its fauna and vegetation would be quiet without suffering any damage by man. There would also be less pollution because tourists would not be able to access so easily.
It would be a great step to end pollution and it would be very good for our planet.
Disadvantages
On the other hand, the privatization of these parks would do a little damage to the economy because they would not receive so many tourists. Also, for local people, it would be a problem since it would be more difficult for them to visit beautiful corners of the place where they live. This would also be a responsibility since they would have to take care of taking care of it to whom it belongs.
In conclusion, the privatization of natural parks greatly benefits them and our planet in general, but it is also bad for the economy for the aforementioned. In my view, they should privatize it because I see the health of our planet as more important than the economy of a country. I think the privatization of natural parks is a good idea.
Computer Mapping vs. Paper Maps
Computer mapping is the general term used to describe the process of developing digital maps from aerial photographs, satellite images, global positioning system (GPS) records, paper maps, and other archival data sources.
Advantages of Digital Maps
- Precise: Digital maps are equipped with real-time satellite data (global positioning system or GPS), so you are receiving the most accurate and up-to-date information.
- Determine the exact location: There is no need to ask for directions. A digital map identifies your exact current position if you happen to get lost.
- Search by location: Enter the name of the location you want (for example, an address or a specific job) in the search field; a digital map provides a list of possible locations. You can select a location that meets your needs.
Disadvantages of Digital Maps and Advantages of Paper Maps
- They are more expensive: Paper maps are cheap in the sense that they are designed and printed only once and do not require additional costs to retrieve.
- They are more difficult to understand: Paper maps are easier to understand due to the limited features that are displayed on the maps at once.
Paper maps are best used by travelers who need to access multiple local destinations.
And finally, we come to the following conclusion:
We can use both types of maps. Each one has a characteristic that another does not. We could choose between a digital map or a paper map depending on the use that we are going to give it. My opinion is that both are very important for geography.
