Complaint Letter: Wrong Shoe Color
Dear Mrs. Miller,
I am writing to explain a problem that I have had with a pair of trainers which I ordered last week.
This morning, I received a package from your shop. When I opened the package, I checked the pair of trainers, and noticed you have sent me the wrong ones because the color is different.
I ordered a pair of pink trainers, and you have sent me blue ones.
I would like to resolve this problem because I need my trainers to participate in a race next Saturday.
I’m sure this problem can be easily resolved. Could you please send me a pair of pink trainers? I will be happy to return the package that I have received and get my pink trainers.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Maria.
Recommendation Letter: Visit San Jose
If you want to meet wonderful people, rest, and have a good time, you must visit San Jose, a small town next to the sea where life is very quiet and relaxing, and where you can forget your problems.
San Jose is 30km from Mojacar. When you arrive at this wonderful town, you can see a lot of trees, rocks, all types of plants, etc., which are everywhere. And most importantly: the sea. San Jose has a nice beach where tourists forget the noises of big cities and the stress, and they relax with their friends or family.
If you walk towards the main square, you can see a lot of tourists shopping in fantastic shops or drinking a delicious beer in a typical restaurant.
At night, it’s very common to have dinner on the beach, on the sand. While you’re eating, you can listen to the sound of the sea. It’s fantastic!
I think that you should visit San Jose; you will never forget this small town where time stops and everybody is happy.
Short Story with a Moral
Last Monday, while I was walking, I saw a man sitting on the floor. Everybody was looking at him; he was wearing old clothes, his hair was dirty, and his eyes were sad. Nobody spoke to him; everybody was afraid because they thought that he could be dangerous.
I decided to speak and ask him, “Do you need help?” He answered me, “I don’t need help, but now I understand a lot of people who are poor and nobody wants to help them.”
I was surprised. So, he stood up and told me an incredible story. He told me that he wasn’t poor; he was very rich, although he knew his friends only loved his money. He had decided to be poor for a day to know if people wanted to help you when you have nothing. He had checked that money is very important for a lot of people. If you are rich, you have a lot of friends, but if you are poor, nobody loves you.
He learned much about this experience, and he decided to invite a lot of people who were living on the street to his house. He gave them food, clothes, and money. They gave him a present impossible to buy with money; they gave him their true friendship.
Email or Postal Mail: What Do People Prefer?
Emails and letters are ways to communicate among people. For me, email is better than a letter because it’s faster, more secure, and cheaper.
I asked ten people about the use of these. One person said she used postal mail because she didn’t know how to use a computer, and it was very difficult to learn. She also said that she didn’t have the internet. The other nine people said they always used email for everything; it’s very easy to use, cheap, very fast, and secure. In addition, you can keep all messages that you have received and sent.
In short, letters aren’t as popular as emails. Perhaps in the future, they may disappear. They are an old means of communication. Nowadays, technology has advanced, and all people use emails, the internet, computers, and mobile phones, except for our grandparents.
