Modal Verbs: Can, Will, Shall

  • Can: Expresses possibility (to be able to) or ability (to know how to).
  • Will: Expresses the future tense, often with certainty, decisions, spontaneous actions, or promises. (e.g., “I will survive”)
  • Shall: Used for suggestions (e.g., “Shall we go?”) and offers (e.g., “Shall I go?”).

WRITING: MY FUTURE

Example 1

My future will be to finish all my studies and become independent. Once I find a job with my partner, I would like to have a girl and a boy named María and Hugo. After having my children, I would like to get married in the Maldives. I hope to continue with my work and enjoy traveling all over the world with my family. I will be a fantastic mother for my two children together with my partner. I hope my future comes true!

Example 2

My future in a few years will be to do and enjoy what I like at all times. The first thing will be to finish my studies and one day work as a physical education teacher.

Then, I will become independent and buy my own car so as not to depend on anyone.

I would love to travel and get to know many new places with my family. Finally, I will form a family and enjoy them. It will be great to be able to do what I like and try to get what I want.
