Present Simple

Use the present simple to describe habits or actions that happen regularly. For he/she/it, add -s or -es to the base form of the verb.

Examples:

  • I take the bus to work.
  • She takes the train.

Past Simple

Use “was” for the past tense with singular subjects (I, he, she, it) and “were” for plural subjects (we, you, they).

Use “did” to form questions and negatives in the past simple.

Examples:

  • I was at home yesterday.
  • They were at the park.
  • Did you go to the party?

Future Simple

Use “will” to express future actions or predictions.

Examples:

  • I will go to the store tomorrow.
  • It will rain later.

Other Useful Words

  • When: used to ask about time
  • Why: used to ask about reason
  • Where: used to ask about location
  • Enough: sufficient
