Spanish National Legislation on Renewable Energy Sources
- Royal Decree 2366/1994, dated December 9, on the production of electricity by hydro plants, CHP and others supplied by resources or renewable energy sources.
- Act 54/1997 of 27 September, on the Electricity Sector.
- Royal Decree 2818/1998 on electric power production facilities or resources for renewable energy, waste, and cogeneration. Updated with RD 436 and the latter was repealed by 661.
- Act 34/1998 of October 7, the hydrocarbon sector provides the legal framework for the transmission, distribution, storage, regasification, and delivery of persons involved in the gas system, clearly defining the roles and responsibilities of all actors involved in the gas system.
- Act 22/2005 of November 18, which incorporates into Spanish legislation various EU directives regarding the taxation of energy products and electricity and taxation applicable to parent companies and subsidiaries of different Member States, and regulating the taxation of contributions to pension funds transfers in the European Union level.
- Royal Decree 616/2007, of May 11 on the promotion of cogeneration.
- Royal Decree 661/2007 of 25 May, regulating the activity of electricity production scheme. RD replacing 436/2004.
- Royal Decree-Law 12/2007, of July 2, which modifies Law 34/1998 on the hydrocarbon sector, in order to adapt to the provisions of Directive 2003/55/EC of the European Parliament and the Council on common rules for the internal market in natural gas.
- Act 17/2007 of July 4, by amending the Electricity Sector Law 54/1997, to adapt it to the Directive 2003/54/EC of the European Parliament and the Council on common rules for the internal electricity market.
