Exploring Mallorca, Education & Life’s Milestones: Personal Reflections
The Best Day of My Life
The most important day of my life was my wedding. My husband and I married on the beach, with approximately 70 guests in attendance. It wasn’t a very large wedding. The weather was perfect; sunny and rain-free.
One of the most beautiful moments for me was when my dog, Lola, brought the rings to the altar. I love Lola! It was perfect. We had practiced it many months beforehand because we were worried that Lola, being a dog who loves swimming in the sea, might run into the water.
The guests were very satisfied with the food we served at our wedding. Everyone was happy and had a great time. It was a very exciting day for my husband and me.
Finally, it must be said that it was an incredible day. Our wedding was small, but we celebrated it with our family and friends. It’s a beautiful day that I will always remember.
Exams in School: Rethinking Evaluation
Recently, many schools have implemented constant testing to assess student comprehension. However, the final grade often hinges on the final exam.
Are Exams the Best Measure of Learning?
Firstly, I believe exams shouldn’t be the sole determinant of a student’s grade. Teachers should consider the overall evolution of the child, not just their performance on a single exam, as they might have a bad day.
The Importance of Continuous Assessment
Secondly, throughout the school year, children engage in activities, tasks, and various learning experiences. Therefore, I believe teaching should place more emphasis on the effort students put into their tasks and their commitment to learning. This approach can also motivate students to attend school, as they are evaluated differently than before.
Finding a Balance in Evaluation
In conclusion, while exams can be a tool to verify learning, I think it’s crucial to give more weight to the activities carried out during the school year, as they provide a more comprehensive picture of a student’s progress.
Computers in Class: Embracing Technology in Education
Electronic devices are often prohibited in schools, as they are perceived as distractions. But is this always the case?
The Potential of Technology in the Classroom
Generally, I believe that using computers in class is not a disadvantage. They can facilitate more dynamic lessons and allow students to research information relevant to the current activity. Moreover, teachers should educate students about the risks of internet usage and proper research techniques, as these are essential skills in today’s world.
Learning Through Play
Furthermore, electronic devices provide access to educational games that can significantly benefit children by combining learning with play.
Addressing the Challenges of Technology
Admittedly, the main drawback of using computers is the potential for distraction and students not paying attention to the teacher’s explanations. Additionally, access to potentially harmful online content is a valid concern.
Maximizing the Benefits of Technology
In conclusion, the use of computers in the classroom can be beneficial if implemented thoughtfully. Teachers should provide clear guidelines for their use and ensure that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
The Majesty of Mallorca’s Cathedral: La Seu
The Cathedral of Mallorca, known as “La Seu,” is one of the most stunning buildings on the island and its primary religious edifice. Construction began in 1229, following the Crown of Aragon’s conquest of the island.
A Gothic Gem on the Bay of Palma
This Gothic-style temple stands majestically on the shores of the Bay of Palma, overlooking the sea and the city’s Roman walls. The cathedral’s interior offers a remarkable sense of spaciousness and lightness, accentuated by its characteristic octagonal pillars.
A Beloved Landmark and Tourist Destination
La Seu is a popular destination for tourists worldwide and is considered one of the most beautiful monuments globally. At night, its reflection shimmers in the water of a large pool in front, drawing many visitors after sunset.
Planning Your Visit
If you plan to visit the Cathedral of Mallorca, it’s open from 10 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., Monday to Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. on weekends.
Combating Bullying in Schools: A Shared Responsibility
Schools should be safe havens for children, but unfortunately, bullying remains a prevalent issue. Bullying involves persistent physical and psychological aggression, raising concerns about the safety of our children.
The Role of Educators in Bullying Prevention
Teachers must foster a respectful environment and be equipped to address bullying effectively. They should instill values such as respect in their students, lead by example, and intervene immediately when witnessing potential aggression. Private conversations with the aggressor can help resolve conflicts and encourage reflection.
Parental Involvement in Addressing Bullying
Families also play a crucial role in combating bullying. Open communication with children, fostering strong relationships, and instilling values are essential. If any aggression is detected, parents should contact the school to collaborate on finding a solution.
A Collaborative Approach to Creating Safer Schools
Both families and schools must work together to eradicate bullying. It’s a critical issue that requires a joint effort, with both parties supporting each other to create a safer and more nurturing environment for all children.
