Industrial Gases for Metal Products, Machinery, and Metallurgy
Metal Products
Linde has developed a full suite of solutions specifically targeted to their needs. Engineers in this industry have knowledge of all procedures and work day to day deploying our solutions to improve the quality, safety, and production costs.
Metal Products – Cutting
Cut with acetylene
The combination of acetylene oxygen produces a flame of higher temperature and higher concentration of heat. These features enable faster and cuts of excellent workmanship, reasonable grounds to ensure the best value for money. With the use of appropriate equipment and the correct ratio of the flow of oxygen and acetylene, it is possible to achieve the best cuts.
Laser cutting
Laser cutting is a fast and quiet process, ideal for thin sheet metal, wood, plastic, glass, and ceramics, with minimum wastage and without distortion. By using the laser, there is a very high level of cutting precision, which allows extremely delicate tasks.
Although the laser process is an investment well spent and presents excellent results, it could also lead to serious errors if the user was not properly advised. Linde puts at your disposal LASERLINE Concept™.
LASERLINE™ is not only the supply of gases. It is a package solution that includes everything from the selection of gases suitable for the specific laser equipment, system design of gas supply in order to guarantee the purity of gases used to the point of consumption, and a team of highly capable professionals for technical advice. Thus, the investment will yield much more for the customer and the decision of choosing the appropriate laser cutting will lead to profitable results for business development.
Metal Products – Thermal Processes (Heating with a Flame)
The term flame heating is used in reference to processes where heat is transferred to the base metal by a flame, unless that is fused or that some material will be removed. Examples of such processes are: trowel flame, flame hardening, conformation, and localized heating. The trowel is used for calls to return the original form with parts or welded assemblies, which were deformed mainly by the effect of welding.
Tempera think is used to provide a hardening in one piece, such as axes or surfaces bearing wear.
In conformation find the part to be resigned is localized heating and applies external mechanical force to obtain the desired shape.
During the welding of certain alloy steels, particularly the thicker ones, it is necessary to preheat the material to prevent the occurrence of cracks. After the soldier, it might also be necessary to heat treatment for stress relief, to reduce the residual stresses resulting from welding.
Metal Products – Welding
MIG / MAGThe use of the GMAW process is becoming more frequent, being currently the most widely used method in Western Europe, the USA, and Japan. This occurs, among other things, due to its high productivity and ease of automation. It can be argued that flexibility is a hallmark of the GMAW process, it allows welding low alloy steels, stainless steels, and aluminum, in thicknesses from 0.5 mm at all positions of welding. The MIG / MAG welding process is compatible with all requirements of environmental protection.
TIG welding
The acronym TIG corresponds to the initials of the English words “Tungsten Inert Gas,” which indicates an inert gas welding and tungsten electrode.
TIG welding can be used in joints welded parts that require high-quality welding and metal highly susceptible to oxidation (as eg.: Titanium and aluminum). Its most frequent use is in heat-resistant steels, stainless steels, and aluminum.
The major advantages of the TIG process are stability and concentration of the electric arc, which means you can use it in all positions and types of welding joint, besides the good looks of the weld bead (finishing soft and smooth). Moreover, this method of welding is characterized by the absence of spatter and slag (avoiding further work cleaning) and its applicability in thinner thicknesses (from 0.3mm). TIG welding can be used with or without filler metal.
RAPID PROCESSINGTM
RAPID PROCESSINGTM is a welding technology encompassing a package of solutions for achieving greater productivity. Among which we mention, is the substantial increase of welding speed, which in some cases doubling, reducing the cost per meter of weld. Improvement to the look and quality cord and practically eliminate spills. It also significantly reduces the warpage of the plate welded due to the smaller thermal contribution.
The case centers on four main aspects: optimization of the welding parameters, material supply, use the line of shielding gas Mison® and appropriateness of the workload for the application concerned. Depending on how these four parameters are integrated, can be obtained outstanding results.
RAPID PROCESSINGTM is a patented welding technology, unique to Linde.
Metal Products – Heat Treatment
The improvement of technical properties of metals by heat treatment requires, in most cases, the use of a suitable atmosphere within the furnace.Linde has developed synthetic atmospheres of high purity, specific to each type of heat treatment. These atmospheres have advantages of Linde synthetic technical, economic, and security when compared with the atmospheres obtained by generators or dissociated ammonia.
Be the thermal treatment the whole or only part of the deal, experts from Linde are able to select the suitable atmosphere for each process, plus ongoing technical support.
Our know-how, combined with the quality of the atmosphere, it can mean significant cost savings, besides improving the safety, reliability, and economy of operation.
