Sergio’s Experiences in New York City
Dear Miguel,
How are you? I’m fine. I’m sending you this letter in English. It’s good practice for both of us. I am writing to tell you about my school, the girls I live with, and New York City.
English Classes at LaGuardia Community College
I’m taking English classes at LaGuardia Community College. I’m in a class with eight students from various countries: Japan, Brazil, Poland, and Italy. Our teacher’s name is Isabel. She’s very nice and a very good teacher.
Living with American Roommates
I live in an apartment with two American girls, Annie and Marnie Kass. They are sisters. Annie is twenty years old and a dancer, while Marnie is eighteen and a student. They’re very friendly, but it isn’t easy to understand them because they speak very fast.
Life in New York City
New York is very big, very exciting, but very expensive. The subway isn’t difficult to use and it’s cheap. It’s very cold now, but Central Park is lovely in the snow. I’m very happy here.
That’s all my news. Write to me soon.
Best wishes,
Sergio

David’s Letter: Memories and Generosity
Dear Laurie and Tony,
How are you? I’m fine. Sorry for not writing earlier. When I arrived in Spain, I went with my family to Ibiza, and I just got home.
I’m writing to thank you for letting me stay with you last month. Even though the weather was bad, I had a great time with you, and I think my English got better.
Unforgettable Music Festival Experience
I still remember when we went to the music festival. The weather was good, but at night it suddenly started to rain. We ended up in the dressing room with the music group Coldplay! They were kind to us, invited us to dinner, and we took some photos with them. We even played a song with them. We sang badly, but had a great time and laughed a lot.
Meeting Claire and Carol & Dining in Ireland
It was also very nice to meet Claire and Carol at the festival. The next day, we went to dinner at the most famous restaurant in Ireland, which was amazing. There was a stage where different musicians played jazz, and in another room, there was a karaoke where we could sing. I will never forget those moments.
Work and Personal Life
I had applied for a job in different restaurants, and finally, I got a job at a KFC in my city. Although the job involved handling customer complaints and cleaning the restaurant daily, I was happy. However, I worked part-time because I earned little money, and my salary was poor.
I work out in the gym five times a week. I play tennis and basketball with my friends, and I’m a good basketball player. I do it for fun and to keep fit.
Charity and Future Plans
As I now have a lot of money, I decided to donate part of it to charity to help poor children, so they won’t go hungry.
I’ll also buy you a plane and a boat. On the boat, we could sail to Ibiza and organize the biggest party of all time. Coldplay will sing on the boat! We can also visit the best places in Spain, such as Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Granada, Santander, and, of course, Murcia. I’m sure you will like it. Don’t forget my invitation to come; my family would love to meet you.
Give my love to Claire and Carol.
Best wishes,
David
PS: You should try the Serrano ham in Spain; it is the best.
