Japan and France: A Cultural Comparison

Introduction

In this work, I will present two different places in the world: Japan and France. We will review the different cultures, languages, foods, attractions, and weather that stand out in each of these countries.

Japan

Cultural Aspects

Japanese culture is known for its good gastronomy, appreciation of forms and appearance, beauty, harmony, tranquility, and silence, and respect. The kimono and yukata are garments widely used by the Japanese, and it is common to see them in pairs.

Attractions

  • Tokyo Disneyland: One of the two theme parks in the Tokyo Disney Resort. It opened on April 15, 1983.
  • Mount Fuji: A composite volcano and the highest peak on the island of Honshu and all of Japan, this being the symbol of Japan.

Food Dishes

Japanese dishes are some of the healthiest, varied, and delicious. Sushi is one of the most typical foods in Japan. It has cooked rice that can be accompanied by different ingredients such as fish, shrimp, vegetables, and others, which make each piece of sushi different and unique. There is also Okonomiyaki, a dish between an omelet and a pizza. Ramen is a Japanese noodle soup with different accompaniments.

Languages and Weather

The languages of Japan are Japanese. The use of other languages such as Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, English, and French is also common. The months of December, January, and February make up the Japanese winter. Spring comes in March, April, and May. June, July, and August make up the summer, and the autumn months are September, October, and November.

France

Cultural Aspects

The culture of France is intimately related to the cultural development of the Western world, particularly in the areas of arts and letters. Paris has long been considered the origin of the culture of France.

Attractions

  • The Eiffel Tower: The symbol of France and its capital, it is the tallest structure in the city and the monument that charges the most visited entrance in the world.
  • The Louvre Museum: The national museum of France devoted to pre-impressionism art, both fine arts and archeology and decorative arts.

Food Dishes

One of the typical dishes to try is Cassoulet, which is usually cooked in family gatherings. Another dish that would be Foie Gras is present at all tables during the holiday season.

Languages and Weather

The official language of France is French. They also have some linguistic variants such as Breton, Corsican, Occitan, and Catalan. France has a great diversity of climates, so temperatures depend on the region and the month in which you visit it. The areas of the western coast of France have a warm and rainy climate throughout the year, while in the interior the summers are hotter and winters are colder with little rain. Finally, in the southern part of the country, the climate is Mediterranean.

Conclusion

I believe that knowing other countries enriches life. You get richer by knowing different cultures, the different attractions that each country has, the beautiful landscapes, and knowing other languages makes you want to travel and discover. It expands your perspectives.
