Journey to the Center of the Earth

Synopsis

Professor Otto Lidenbrock, a renowned mineralogist, discovers an ancient runic manuscript detailing a path to the Earth’s core. His nephew, Axel, deciphers the message, revealing instructions left by the alchemist Arne Saknussemm. Despite Axel’s apprehension, they embark on an expedition to Iceland, the starting point of their subterranean journey.

The Descent

The Subterranean World

Building a raft, they navigate the underground ocean, encountering prehistoric creatures and navigating treacherous storms. They discover a vibrant ecosystem, including giant mushrooms and the fossilized remains of extinct animals. Their journey takes an unexpected turn when they are swept away by a volcanic eruption.

The Ascent and Return

The eruption propels them through a volcanic chimney, eventually emerging from Mount Stromboli in the Mediterranean Sea.
