Arrival in Valencia
Hi Tomas,
I got your letter this morning, and I am looking forward to having you here soon. About your questions on how to get from the airport to our apartment, well, it won’t be difficult. When you arrive in Valencia, take the bus to the end station. I will call the airport to get your estimated time of arrival and will wait for you there at the end station, OK?
About the weather, well, it is quite nice here for September, but you should never trust the Spanish weather. It can turn very quickly, so take some warm clothes with you. And finally, the money problem: try not to think about it. You will not spend money here when you are visiting me. You will be my guest, remember that. As I said before, I am looking forward to seeing you.
The Importance of Learning Foreign Languages
Learning foreign languages is necessary nowadays because the world works like an international community, and it is important to know how to communicate with each other. I come from Spain, and I speak Spanish as my native language. However, I can speak a little bit of English as well.
First of all, foreign languages can be very useful when you are abroad on holidays and when you need to speak with people from other nationalities. Secondly, the Internet has information in all kinds of languages, but most of it is in English. Also, it is good to have friends in other countries and try to communicate with them by email. Finally, if you want to work in the business sector or in many others, like tourism, you must know at least other languages apart from your own.
But not all is perfect. Even though learning is so important, it is not easy to become a master in a language or to start speaking fluently.
Movie Recommendation: Mamma Mia!
Dear friend,
If I were you, I would see *Mamma Mia! The Movie* because if you want to forget your problems and have a good time, this is the best movie. I have seen it recently, and I think you will enjoy it because you have always liked ABBA’s songs. The cast is quite good, and it has some famous actors. The plot isn’t very bad, and the soundtrack is full of ABBA’s songs.
This movie is a musical comedy, and it hasn’t got a lot of special effects. The star is Meryl Streep, who plays the role of Donna. It was dubbed into other languages, but I recommend you see it in English.
The plot is amazing. Donna’s daughter, called Sophie, is going to get married, and she invites her three possible fathers to her wedding. Donna, who doesn’t know anything about her daughter’s plan, is surprised by her old lovers. The movie, which was filmed on location in Greece, has an incredible end.

Job Application: Activities Coordinator
Dear Mrs. Sykes,
I am interested in your advertisement shown in the local youth center, and I would like to apply for the post of Activities Coordinator. I am 20 years of age, and I am used to working with children because I babysit my neighbor’s sons regularly. I train in the gym twice a week, and I often go hiking in the countryside with my friends. In addition to this, I have a lifesaving certificate and have enjoyed swimming since I was a child.
