My Educational Path: From Benicàssim Schools to University
My Early School Days in Benicàssim
My education began when I was three years old in preschool at Liceo school in Benicàssim. I attended this school until I was eleven (for seven years in total) and have beautiful memories of this stage of my life. Liceo covered nursery, primary, and secondary education.
When I was six years old, I started primary school. During this period, I learned essential skills like reading, counting, and other mathematical operations such as multiplication and division. I fondly remember my teacher asking us multiplication tables; if we answered correctly, she gave us a sweet. I always got some sweets!
Learning English and Basic Skills
I started learning English in the first grade of primary school at Liceo. Initially, I really liked the subject. I still recall a large poster hanging in the classroom displaying parts of the school and the house in English. My first English teacher was named Manuela. Honestly, I don’t have many memories of her, except that she was very tall, redheaded, and wore glasses.
My favorite preschool teacher was Tona. She was a funny, very cheerful, and sympathetic woman. I loved her because she reminded me of my grandmother and always looked out for me.
Navigating Secondary School and Athletics
In fifth grade, I moved to Peñeta Roja sports school. There, I finished primary education and began secondary school. You might wonder why I didn’t continue secondary education at Liceo. The reason is simple: the dining service was compulsory, and I hated the food they cooked.
At Peñeta Roja, my favorite subject was always Arts because I enjoy painting. I also liked Physical Education. During my time there, I started practicing athletics. My specialties were the long jump and velocity (sprinting). I loved competing and always won many medals. I greatly enjoyed athletics!
Later, I attended a secondary school called Juan Bautista Porcar, starting when I was twelve. My favorite subjects there were Psychology and English. My secondary school English teacher was named Paz. I loved her because she taught me many things. My favorite activities were those involving English songs, which helped me learn the alphabet and many other things.
Discovering Interests and Overcoming Challenges
Because I love learning languages, I also attended an English academy. However, when I finished the first years of high school (or early secondary), I failed English for the first time. Luckily, I passed the retake in September. Since then, I have always been scared of failing this subject again. I hope this won’t happen again.
High School, Languages, and Choosing a Career
When I reached the age of sixteen, I changed schools again and went to Francisco Ribalta. There, I studied the Humanities track in high school (Bachillerato Humanístico), choosing subjects like Greek and Latin. It was here I decided to pursue a degree in preschool education because I love children.
When I was seventeen, I passed the university entrance exam.
I also learned German at the Official School of Languages (EOI). I attended classes for two hours every day as part of an intensive course. Looking back, I think I was a bit crazy to enroll in such an exhausting course!
University Studies and Future Aspirations
Currently, I am studying for my degree in preschool education at Jaume I University. I am very happy to be studying what I really like.
My parents wanted me to study to become a teacher because they knew I loved this profession. They always told me I could study whatever I wanted.
I would like to continue learning English to be able to communicate with people from all countries, as I love travelling and hope to take many trips around the world.
I hope to finish my degree and find a job as a teacher.
