Oasis Project: Bringing Joy and Support to Children
Welcome to the Oasis Project
About Us
The Oasis Project is a heartwarming initiative where we visit the Oasis neighborhood for three days annually. We spend quality time with the children, assist in construction projects for families, and provide school support. We celebrate Children’s Day together, share meals, play games, conduct engaging activities, help build better homes, and tutor students. It’s a time filled with laughter, learning, love, and labor.
Our Stay
During our visit, we stay at La Villa Inmaculada. This is not just a place to sleep; it’s a space where all volunteers come together to share experiences and reflect on the impact of our work in the neighborhood. On the last day of our visit, we invite the neighborhood to join us at La Villa Inmaculada for a communal lunch and heartfelt goodbyes until we meet again.
Our Mission
Our mission is to bring joy and support to the children and families of Oasis. We aim to provide them with essential items like food and clothing, assist in improving their living conditions, provide educational support, and more importantly, we strive to give them unforgettable memories and experiences.
Get Involved
There are several ways you can contribute to the Oasis Project:
- Donate: We accept donations of clothes, food, construction materials, tools, and school supplies. Every little bit helps!
- Fundraise: Help us raise funds for the project. You could organize a charity bingo night or a bake sale at your workplace or school.
- Volunteer: Join us on our annual visit to Oasis. Spend time with the children, participate in activities, lend a hand in our construction projects, or tutor students.
Partner Organization
We work closely with an NGO called “TalitaKun”, which helps us communicate with the neighborhood. They also have space for volunteers if you’re interested in getting involved on a more regular basis.
Join Us
Whether you’re a student, a parent, or just someone looking to make a difference, we welcome you to join us in this noble cause. Together, we can bring smiles to the faces of the children in Oasis and make every Children’s Day a special one for them.
The Importance of School and Studies
Dear Students,
I am writing to discuss a misunderstanding that school and studies are not important. Some students have this wrong idea, but this is not true at all. Doing well in school, including getting good grades and finally a degree, is very important for your future.
The first reason why it is important is that it helps you understand complex ideas, solve problems, and use what you have learned. It is also crucial to know a little bit of everything, such as history or geography.
Secondly, achieving high grades proves your knowledge, discipline, and dedication to your studies. These qualities are valued in the job market, so you have advantages and more opportunities.
To conclude, remember that academic success is not just about getting a “better” job. The knowledge you gain and the skills you develop are invaluable. They help you grow, improve, and work hard, and give you tools to contribute to society.
Yours Faithfully,
Abril Virili
