Personal Reflections, Cartagena Restaurant, and Essays
A Personal Description
My mother’s name is Irene, the same as mine. This is because my grandmother was also named Irene. However, my niece is called Sara, and my grandmother is upset because she values traditions greatly.
My mother loves her new granddaughter and only wants Sara to be happy. She is very understanding. I love my mother. She is shorter than me, but her personality is wonderful. Her blonde hair is like a golden waterfall cascading down her shoulders. She resembles a fairy or a princess and always has a kind word for everyone.
Horror movies are her favorite genre, but she often can’t sleep afterward and has nightmares. It makes me laugh because she can’t avoid it. At that moment, it’s no longer a nightmare!
My mother is great. She is the best, most fantastic, and funniest mother in the world. People say she is humble and generous. She is as good a person as those “Good Men” in Arturo Perez Reverte’s new book.
Restaurant in Cartagena
My favorite restaurant is in the center of Cartagena. It is very spacious and elegant, inviting us to spend a lot of time there.
I love going to this restaurant with my family, friends, and companions. The themed rooms are based on different cities worldwide, featuring their meals, drinks, and desserts.
Celebrities often visit, and photos of them are hung on the walls. In short, it’s a great restaurant called Abava, and the site is well-kept.
I would recommend this restaurant for its location and variety of dishes.
English Language Influence: An Opinion Essay
The English language is not a threat to other languages. I believe this because many Spanish speakers only use English when strictly necessary, such as when speaking with their children, family, and friends in Spanish. If this is happening with the Spanish language, I think the situation is similar for other languages around the world.
On the other hand, although it seems that English pervades much of our daily life, it is also true that many Spanish words are being adopted by other languages. Our famous word “tapa” is used in all languages, and “siesta” is another word commonly used abroad.
Despite this, languages must be preserved, and I think they will be if people speak only one language for certain activities. That would be great for our coexistence.
To sum up, in my opinion, learning English is important for our professional future, but speaking our mother tongue is also very important. Therefore, we must study to prepare for our adult lives without forgetting our origins.
Social Media: An Argumentative Essay
Today, the internet is a very useful tool available to everyone, especially young people.
If you wonder what happened to a classmate you got along with, you can likely find the answer by searching their name on Facebook. Social networks not only help find new friends but also reconnect with old ones.
- Social networks are full of groups of people who want to help each other, for example, by sharing health advice or information of many different types.
Social networks contain all kinds of hoaxes, some funny and some quite harmful. Many believe that social networks bombard us with false information. In addition, it is one of the tools that abusers use most to harm their victims.
Can social media make us less sociable? Yes, if we go out for coffee and pay more attention to WhatsApp than to our companion. Misused social networks can have a dangerous isolating effect.
Social networks are quite useful as they help us communicate with people far away, but they are also dangerous if you don’t know someone or if they impersonate another person.
