Planning, Productivity, and Time Management

1. Holiday Planning

When planning holidays, my first consideration is aligning dates with my daughter’s availability. We then choose a destination, prioritizing places neither of us has visited. We each have one week of work and a two-week vacation period. Providing our preferred dates in advance allows for scheduling adjustments upon our return.

2. To-Do Lists: Helpful or a Waste of Time?

Creating a weekly to-do list is not a waste of time for me. It’s not a rigid schedule, but rather a helpful guide for the following day’s activities. If something can’t be done, it’s rescheduled. This is particularly useful for work, as it allows me to combine multiple audits in one day, freeing up time for other things.

3. Sticking to Plans

Prioritizing plans is essential. However, flexibility is key when unforeseen events arise. Address the problem, and once resolved, return to the plan. The urgency of the unforeseen event dictates whether the plan continues immediately or after attending to the issue.

4. A Busy Week and Upcoming Travel

After a busy week of sales and deliveries, I value time at home with family, my girlfriend, and friends. My work as a delivery driver for a distributor involves taking orders from various grocery stores, organizing them at the distribution center with my coworker Santiago, and then purchasing the items from the warehouse.

Last Saturday, after a long day of deliveries in Alta Cordoba, General Paz, and Jorge Newbery, I was exhausted. However, my job allows me to travel to new places. For my next holiday, my girlfriend and I are going to Rio de Janeiro. We chose an apartment over a hotel for affordability and comfort. This will be my first time leaving the country and flying, and I’m excited and nervous about this new experience.

5. Time is Gold: Reflections on Time Management

The saying “time is gold” prompts me to reflect on how I spend my time. I agree with this proverb, believing we are constantly doing things from the moment we wake up until we go to bed. However, distractions can lead to wasted time.

My daily commute by bus can be time-consuming, with wait times varying. Sometimes, I oversleep, causing anxiety about completing tasks, especially work-related ones.

Social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram are major distractions. I sometimes wish for the older, less distracting internet for increased efficiency and better time appreciation.

However, not all activities feel like wasted time. Conversations with family, friends, or my girlfriend about our day, feelings, future plans, and interests are valuable and bring me joy. Time flies, and instead of meticulously planning everything, we should cherish and live in the moment.
