  • Whole new interactive cadaver that allows you to peel back layers of the human cadaver and view hundreds of brand-new dissection photographs specially commissioned for 3.0.
  • New interactive histology allows you to view the same tissue slide at different magnifications, thereby helping you identify structures and their characteristics.

5. I clicked on the Rotate button in the Skeletal System, but the window says loading. What is loading?

The Skeletal System links to virtual bones you can interact with by rotating around (many vertically and horizontally) to see and appreciate the three-dimensionality of bone structures. You can also zoom in to see details such as bone markings.

A small number of these files, such as the skull, may take a moment to download. It truly is worth the tiny wait as rotating and exploring the skull is a really cool experience!

6. Is there a way to locate a specific image in the Self Review activity without clicking through one image after another?

Yes! Click on the SHOW PHOTO GALLERY tab at the bottom left of the screen to pop up a slide allowing you to navigate image thumbnails from the Self Review activity. Click on an individual image thumbnail to display in the Self Review activity.

7. I misspelled my answer in the lab practical. Can I get partial credit?

Sorry, no. Most lab instructors grade on correct spelling during the actual lab practical exam. Practice Anatomy Lab is a great study tool that will help you practice your learning and spelling of anatomical terms.

8. How do I print a page?

9. Does Practice Anatomy Lab work on netbooks or tablets?

Yes! Practice Anatomy Lab will work on netbooks and tablets that have a minimum screen resolution of 955 x 600 and are Flash compatible. A PAL 3.0 app will be available soon for iPad users.

10. While using the DVD version of PAL, I received a message “Adobe Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation.” What does this mean?

The Adobe Flash Player has a default security setting which can prevent certain files stored on your local computer such as a DVD to play in an Internet browser. You might encounter this message while trying to access the bone rotation activities. You can change your security settings by following the instructions from Adobe here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/093/4c093f20.html.
