Robinson Crusoe: A Symbol of Colonialism and the Prodigal Son

First person narrator, the first word of the book is the pronun “I” which is followed by : “was born in York”.
Robinson Crusoe is a man who stayed 28 years marooned on an island. (Robin- Robinsnades). In the end, he becomes servant and then is rescued and finally returns to England. Es considerado un subgenero en si mismo.

On the left, before starting the novel. Nos da la impresion de que Crusoe se encuentra encerrado en la isla, sin escapatoria. It is something claustrophobic. We observe the sea in the back. It also appears a book which could be the Bible which is essential in Robinson Crusoe’s novel. Claustrophobic sense. We can also see an umbrella just in the middle. This summarizes the story: a desert island, the sea. Robinson Crusoe is understood as the Bible of Colonialism.

A man with a moustache. A parrot on the shoulder. The parrot said his name and he gots confused. The trees are the representation of the jail, he can’t scape from the jungle. He was claustrofobic and the picture represents claustrofobia. Also, we can see a hut, a shelter (Refujio). Exuberant jungle. The see is closing the freedome of Robinson Crusoe. The birds are flying representing the freedome. Se va a Africa convencido por una mala compañia donde naufragia y se va a la isla definitiva donde el se queda todo ese tiempo. El tenía una plantación y lo convences para ir a africa a buscar esclavos. En la imagen el barco está naufragando y te da una imagen siempre claustrofobica.// 11 image:

Uno de los momentos mas importantes de la literatura inglesa es esta. En la imagen Robinson ve una pisada en la arena. Todo el cuerpo esta apuntado a la pisada. La sombirlla, el palo y su cuerpo estan apuntand a la pisada ya que no se ve muy bien. Te da sensación de claustrofobia porque se ve la intensidad del oceano, no puedes escapar del oceano. // En el siglo 18 se invade a los africanos por la religion. Para implantarla religión catolica.
