Social Poetry

Ribes Francisco stresses consulted with the anthology of the young Spanish poetry. The topics covered by them are torn humanism, existential angst, and the drama of man and of Spain. They reject the aestheticism of minorities and aim to reach a broad audience, and adhere to the time concept of poetry.

Thus, poetry becomes a social power and is considered a tool to transform society.

This poetry was born from the national and European situation at the end of World War II, the internal tensions of the Cold War, and the purpose of collaborating in the transformation of this social situation. The themes are those that affect the community, such as injustice and solidarity. It also retrieves the subject of Spain.

The Decade of the Sixties: The Recovery of the “Social”

The generation of 1950 is composed of poets born between 1925 and 1935, who were called “children of war.” In them, there is a strong determination to overcome the “social” as a theme.

Characteristic features of the poetic style of this generation:

  1. Poetry as Knowledge and Experience: They conceive of poetry as a mode of self-knowledge and understanding the world. His subjects come from the exploration of subjectivity and personal experience. There is not much religion, and poems about friendship abound.
  2. Realism: There are traits of honesty, civic attitude, and commitment. His attitude is a typical humanistic concern for the problems of human beings.
  3. The Use of Satire and Irony: Through humor and irony, he reveals his nonconformity. The negative view of human nature leads to painful skepticism.

Journalistic Genres

They tend to distinguish three types of parties in the news:

  • Headlines: Serve several functions: they identify and categorize information, summarize the content, draw attention to the reader, and are a symptom of intent or point of view.
  • Entry: The first paragraph of the story, the beginning. Collect the key information, its essence.
  • Body of the News: Completes and develops an input, provides details and nuances to information.
Type of Structure
  1. Descending Structure: Different paragraphs listed in descending order of importance.
  2. Growing Structure: It is a linear narrative of events, from inception to the final outcome.
  3. Mixed Structure: At the entrance and offered key considerations in the body, increasing chronological narrative structure.

The Feature

This is a broader information story. The difference with the news is not only spread but also the design and purpose. Unlike the news, it is not constrained by the immediacy.
