Spanish TV Shows, Sports Salaries, and Omelette Recipe
Popular TV Series in Spain
El Internado was on TV a few years ago. It became a great success, showing the history and mysteries of the Black Lagoon boarding school. However, it is also popular with parents. The main actors and actresses have suddenly become very famous.
I am sorry it has taken so much time to respond to your email, but I had to work very hard this week because I had a lot of tests. I just did the last one today, so hopefully, I can relax again soon!
Personally, I like to watch El Internado. It is very interesting, very exciting because sometimes amazing things happen to the characters, and the mysteries are resolved. I think the actors are great. You asked me to tell you about the latest trends on television in Spain. One of the most popular programs for teens at the moment is El Barco. It is a program about people traveling by boat and facing all kinds of battles.
Are Top Sports Salaries Justified?
Top sports people earn too much money nowadays. In most countries today, top sports people, such as footballers, tennis players, and basketball players, get enormous salaries. In a week, they often earn more than ordinary people in a year. Is this really too much?
Personally, I think so. Firstly, the active life of a professional sports person is relatively short—they often retire when they are in their mid-thirties. Besides, many of them don’t even play that long, as they often get injured, which means they have to retire early. Secondly, although their salaries are very high, they are not much higher than those of other successful people in the entertainment industry, such as pop singers, actors, or TV personalities, whose professional careers can last for fifty years. Sport today is watched by millions of people, so it should be considered entertainment, just like the cinema or TV.
To sum up, I think that top sports people’s high salaries are unfair if you compare them with people doing normal jobs.
Recipe for Making a Spanish Omelette
Ingredients:
- 4 eggs
- Half a kilo of potatoes
- Olive oil, about one quart
- Salt
- Onions (optional)
Recipe Steps:
- Wash and cut the potatoes into thin slices and the onion. Heat the oil and add the potatoes, adding some salt and onion if you like, and fry.
- Tip: If you like the potatoes more undone, you can mash them with a spoon while stirring. When they are golden brown, set aside, and it is important that the oil drains in a colander or on a plate with paper towels.
- Beat the eggs with a little salt, and once beaten, add the potatoes, mixing well with the beaten egg.
- Prepare the pan again on the fire with two teaspoons of oil, a sheet to cover the back of the pan. Add the egg mixture and potatoes.
- Tip: Move skillfully, shaking the pan so the omelette does not stick. When you perceive that it is curdled, put a lid on top and turn it over (it’s easy, you just have to do it safely). You may turn it until it is brown on both sides to taste… And that’s our omelette!
