The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) defines it as “the discipline devoted to understanding, evaluating, and controlling those factors arising or caused in the workplace that can cause diseases or create discomfort among the workers.”

- Medical direction has not granted permission.
- The patient has already taken the maximum allowed dose(s) prior to arrival.
