Utilities

Utilities are activities of the tertiary sector that are managed by the state. They are maintained with taxes and benefit the majority of the citizens of a state.

Commerce

Commerce, in the context of economic geography, is the flow of goods or services between the producer and the consumer. Trade usually takes place in a physical location.

Transport

Transport is the transfer of people or goods from one place to another. Modern commercial transport serves the public interest and includes all the means and facilities involved in the movement of persons or property, as well as reception services, delivery, and handling of goods.

PEIT

The Strategic Plan for Infrastructures and Transport (PEIT) now serves as the reference framework for the development of Spain’s mobility policy in the period 2005-2020.

Foreign Trade

Foreign trade is dedicated to exporting products manufactured in the country to other countries and importing products manufactured in other countries to sell domestically.

Tourist Area

A tourist area is an area of production that may now be the most important in that country. This area is mostly comprised of beaches and luxury hotels. As its name suggests, it is a place where tourists go to spend time.

Department Stores

Department stores are large establishments that offer a variety of products designed to cover a wide range of needs: food, clothing, household items, decoration, etc. They are located in central cities and often have multiple floors, dividing their sales area into sections.

Interior Trade

Interior trade takes place between people who are present in the same country, subject to the same jurisdiction.

Trade Area

The trade area is responsible for distributing the goods and services generated by the company in its production process. Therefore, it is necessary to implement efficient control within its structure.

Outsourcing

Outsourcing occurs when an activity ceases to be developed by employees of a company and is transferred to another company.

Cultural Tourism

Cultural tourism involves traveling for pleasure but with the specific purpose of visiting certain places or attending certain events related to culture.

Transport Network

A transport network is a national network structured in layers. It carries user information from one point to another or other points, either bidirectionally or unidirectionally.

Service Sector

The service sector is the economic sector that includes all economic activities that do not produce tangible goods directly but offer services to meet the needs of the population. It includes the transport sector, trade, and others.

Intermodal Transport

Intermodal transport is the articulation between different modes using a single measure of charge to make the transfer operations of materials and goods faster and more efficient. The subdivisions of land transport and water transport are considered different modes.

Dry Port

A dry port is a domestic intermodal terminal connected to one or more maritime terminals, with the ability to postpone the entry of customs control to the dry port. This feature allows streamlining the export of goods from the ports to their destination, helping to relieve their operations.
