Unexpected Crimes: Lamb, Betrayal, and a Prank Gone Wrong

All of a sudden, the other detective, who had just come from the other bedroom and had heard her giggle, said: “Did you say something, Mrs. Maloney?” Mary began to sob again, feigning an astonishing cry. She almost started laughing, so the officers began to suspect. The four men began to look at each other, frowning and thinking the same thing: something strange happened in this house. Quickly, one of the policemen stood up and walked away from her towards the kitchen. Mary knew that the detective had seen something in her face; she tried so very hard to hide it. Her head began to flow with ideas. What could she do now? Could she flee out of the house? But where to go?

Finally, Mary, who was already very weary, could not take it anymore. “I should have hit him harder! I should have hit him harder!” she screamed violently. Right away, she was arrested by the officers. After being questioned at police headquarters, even without proof of any crime, she was accused of murder. Weeks later, she was convicted of first-degree murder by a judge.

Nowadays, she continues in prison serving her sentence.

After that, Ali took his torn bag and filled it with things he still had in the house: his mat, books, and so on. He couldn’t allow that kind of behavior from his father. So, he called a cab and went somewhere else to live with people of a Muslim community, where he would feel accepted and supported.

Meanwhile, Parvez was sobbing. He began to realize that he had lost his son forever. What could he do? Suddenly, the telephone rang. It was Apu, a friend taxi driver, who said he had carried Ali in the taxi. Parvez knew that Ali had rebuked him for his behaviors and then rebuked Bettina too for her attempt at reconciliation, but Ali was his child. He had to do something about it.

Minutes later, Parvez, with anger after all that had happened, took the car and went to the address that Apu had given him. Once there, Parvez apologized to Ali for what happened. Finally, Ali came to his senses and forgave his father.

Nowadays, both father and son live happily in London. Parvez is retired, and Ali has two Muslim children.

It all started with a joke between some friends of mine on Saturday night at my house. At the time, we were discussing how the police worked, when Fran came up with the idea of making a joke call to the police.

Although Fran warned us about it, I decided to make the call. I picked up the phone, dialed the number, and soon it was calling. As soon as somebody picked up, I started threatening them that I was planning to bomb their headquarters. Immediately after they hung up, we burst out laughing.

At the end of the day, I was preparing to go to bed when I heard some noise outside. It sounded like quick footsteps on the porch. And yet it seemed that nobody was out there.

All of a sudden, I heard the entrance door being banged. Before I could do anything, a dozen of men in black entered into my room, aimed guns at me, and yelled, “Police! Put your hands up!”

I had to explain everything to them. Certainly, if I had known what was going to happen, I would never have made that phone call.

At the start, Mary is all innocent, like a lamb. She doesn’t expect anything bad to happen. After Patrick tells her the news, he is standing at the window, unsuspecting, like a lamb to the slaughter, because he knows nothing of what’s happening. And Mary kills him with a leg of lamb. Patrick is slaughtered by the leg of lamb, so by Mary. The weapon is the very innocent lamb. Therefore, Mary is guilty because she has committed a crime. Moreover, the policemen eat the lamb. They eat the weapon and the evidence. So the case will never be cleared because they are too innocent to suspect the meat. The meat isn’t bad because it’s lamb. But the leg of lamb is guilty because it has killed Patrick.

The story is strange because it’s unexpected that Mary kills her husband with an innocent leg of lamb. Moreover, she covers the crime and cooks the meat. She isn’t sad that her husband is dead.
