Unforgettable Vacation Adventures

My vacation… For my holidays to be good, I would like to have fun, like I imagine everyone else. Getting up late and doing whatever you want without obligations…

What I like most about my vacation is to travel, even not far, simply to travel. The start of this holiday was in Cadiz, where I stayed on the beach with my grandparents and uncles. We went to the beach, which is one of the best things about summer. I visited villages like San Lucar de Barrameda, Bologna beach, where we saw some Roman ruins and climbed a dune. We ate fried fish, shrimp pancakes, tuna, etc.

We also went to Mérida. It was very, very hot, and we saw a play at the Roman theater in the evening, “Electra”. I’ve also gone north with my cousins, which was good. The bad thing was the weather; we could only go one day to the beach, but that day we enjoyed it like five. After going north, specifically to a village called Galizano, where we made many friends, we went to Oporto, a wonderful city north of Portugal. It wasn’t just to see the city but also to visit a friend I made at the university exchange last year. She is a charming, playful little girl, and her sister is more of the same. With them, we took walks along the banks of the River Duero, went boating on the river, and saw castles, churches, and the House of Music, which was a very nice and original architectural monument. It is used as an auditorium for shows of all kinds. Last but not least, we went to see the famous Lello Library, which the author of Harry Potter was inspired by. It is a different library, old, small but beautiful, with every book you can imagine: big and small adventures, kitchen, art, baking, horror, comedy, drama… but all with a special charm, not inside, but by where they are located. Near the library is a store of curious objects like brass boxes, brass bikes… but more characteristic of the store is selling old things, non-book related: soaps, all kinds of toys, bags, snacks, clocks, magnets, toothpaste, brushes…

We spent four days in port and then returned to Valladolid, where I was with my friends for a long time. I also went to Benasque in the Pyrenees, where my uncles live, and I made mountain routes and went back to the peak Salvaguradia, 2800 meters high, which Aneto is opposite to. We also went to a town of Burgos where my grandmother Esther is from, Arlanzón.

Doing funny things is as important as traveling. I mounted a canoe for the first time, and it was fun. It was a double canoe; I went in front, and my sister in the back. We stayed with the canoe on a lake for an hour, and it was really fun. Another cool thing about this holiday was going to fairs, as every year. This was my fantastic holiday.

Thoughts on Reality TV

First of all, I think that not all reality shows are the same. There are different kinds of reality shows. For example, “Big Brother” is a reality show where the most important aspect is coexistence. Another show is about discovering new singers, such as “Operación Triunfo“. Personally, I prefer reality shows like Operation Triumph because in this show, singers that I like a lot have been discovered. In Big Brother, the only thing that they do is fight and shout at each other. Furthermore, I think that this show is a waste of time. Many people consider reality shows programs that spoil television because they consider them to be rubbish. I think that if a television genre like reality shows generates news, then that means there’s an audience for them, even if many people don’t like them. In conclusion, I want to say that I don’t watch many reality shows; however, I do see them occasionally. I prefer series or films rather than reality shows because films are more interesting.
