Unique Destinations and Personal Experiences
Charming Destinations: Britain and Galicia
There are places that stand out for their treatment of visitors, their magical landscapes, their fun activities, and their friendly people. This is the case with Britain; its streets full of bars, churches, shops, and schools, and their happy cities, make you feel very welcome. People are friendly and always willing to receive visitors, and that’s a very important aspect.
I live in a small village that is not heavily populated, but the neighboring village is very touristy and peculiar. This town is known for a festival during the summer months called La Fiesta del Pulpo, where the most typical thing is to eat octopus surrounded by people, music, and dance. Here in Galicia, it is very typical to eat octopus, and that is why this party is so popular. Thousands of tourists attend, but the organization could be improved, attracting even more tourists if there were more hotels. There are so many people in the town during the summer that it is sometimes difficult to walk the streets. More activities could be organized throughout the year to attract more tourists.
Studying Abroad: Germany and London
Studying abroad usually involves a high economic cost. This is not the case with Germany, which has become one of the best places to move to if you want to study and live a new experience. In most countries, university fees are very expensive, but in Germany, it is practically free to study, and you will hardly have to speak German. It’s fantastic!
I would like to study abroad because it offers many opportunities for the future. The city I would like to go to is London. Learning English is very relevant for the future, and studying in London would aid in learning this language. Its universities have international prestige and are recognized worldwide. Furthermore, I would like to be in contact with other cultures and ways of thinking, and I believe it is a country with a lot of cultural diversity. London offers many job opportunities as it is a cosmopolitan and globalized city; I could study and start working to gain experience. In conclusion, I would like to study abroad because I think it is a very enriching experience on both a professional and personal level.
Seeking Advice: A Letter to Dr. Wise
In this letter, a boy who is in love with his best friend writes to Dr. Wise to ask for advice. He explains that his feelings for her have been growing over time, and he finally decided to express his feelings to her. After receiving a lot of advice, the boy doesn’t know what to do and writes to Dr. Wise for help.
Dear Desperate,
Reading your letter, I’ve realized that you are in a painful situation. It’s hard to be in love and not have those feelings reciprocated. You must be patient, give her enough time to assimilate your declaration of love, and not be obsessed. You must understand that this change is also difficult for her. She has always treated you like a brother; you are her best friend, and maybe she can’t imagine what it would be like to lose you as a friend. The main thing you have to do is decide if you want to remain in contact with her or if it might be better to take a break from your relationship to clear your head. Love issues are always hard to manage, but I’m sure that everything is going to be alright soon.
Yours truly,
Dr. Wise
